  1. Erik (55) speaks of the mental difficulties he's had as a child. These difficulties only worsened when he became visually impaired. He tells his tale how he had to re-find his own identity, and develop an optimistic mindset to improve his situation. Jeroen (42) lost almost all his vision when he was sixteen years old. He too had to find a new purpose for his life. He describes the consequences the brain tumor have had upon his social life and his career. Despite having his life turned upside down, he starts working where he can. There he meets a man named Bjorn who introduces him to running. Despite not being taken seriously, Jeroen presses Bjorn on to train him. From there sparks the idea of joining Running Blind, an organization for blind runners. There Erik and Jeroen met one another and a group of friends begins to take form. Jeroen shows us he's run multiple marathons by now, through the help of guidance runners, dubbed as "buddies". Although he is nearly blind, Jeroen runs by himself in his hometown. Some people worry for him, but the liberation he feels by running by himself makes up for it. He won't let his visual impairment impede his life
